HKS Hipermax-D (Drift)
HIPERMAX D' was developed specifically for professional Drift racing.
However this kit was not designed (like some of the competition) to deliver less than ideal road holding performance for easy drifting. Instead the Hipermax-D successfully balances car control while allowing for easy drifting and recovery traction.
The Front section of the vehicle turns quickly and the driver receives a lot of information through the suspension system from tires providing ultimate drift control. The kit is therefore also ideally suited to motokhana style or small circuit racing that have a lot of tight corners.
The lower collar adjustment type is selected to have enough bottom stroke. Pre-load is also adjustable by the lower seat. It is possible to find the best setting at any ride height or spring rate.
A helper spring is used for the rear for the vehicle. While driving into a corner, the helper spring presses the tire down to the road surface so that the driver can continue to get information from the rear tires. This ultimately enables high level sliding control.
The lightweight thin case, which is the same as the "HIPERMAX Pro", is used for the main cylinder to reduce unsprung weight, although usually, the lower collar adjustable type tends to be heavier.
Spring rate and damping force are set hard for high speed drifting in circuit conditions using high grip radial tires. Damping force is adjustable by 30 steps to match the various track conditions or specification of of the vehicle.
This kit is recommended for racing use only.
If the ride height is set too low, the tire might foul car body or any other parts.
